VA STAFF SERGEANT PARKER GORDON FOX SUICIDE PREVENTION GRANT PROGRAM | FY2027

VETERAN STABILITY + CONNECTION

Support before a crisis.

The Alignment Collective's Veteran Stability + Connection Program is a community-based, non-clinical suicide prevention program helping Veterans strengthen stability, connection, and access to the resources they need.

Launching in Fall 2026 with support from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program.

Support before a crisis

Suicide prevention happens in community.

A crisis rarely has just one cause.

Housing instability. Employment challenges. Financial stress. Isolation. Transportation barriers. Difficulty navigating benefits. Disconnection from health care and community.

These challenges can compound over time.

Veteran Stability + Connection is designed to meet Veterans where they are, identify what's getting in the way, and build practical support around the individual before challenges become crises.

Our team works alongside Veterans to strengthen stability, connection, and access to VA and community resources.

Veterans connecting in community

How we can help

Outreach + Engagement

Connecting with Veterans in the community, including Veterans who may not currently be connected with VA services.

Screening + Individualized Support

Program participants complete required eligibility, suicide-risk, mental-health, well-being, social-support, and socioeconomic screening so services can respond to each Veteran's individual needs.

Case Management

One-on-one support identifying needs, developing goals, coordinating resources, navigating systems, and addressing barriers affecting stability and well-being.

Housing + Resource Navigation

Connection to housing resources, Veteran programs, community services, and other supports that can improve stability.

Employment Support

Help identifying employment goals, preparing for work, navigating workforce and training resources, addressing employment barriers, and supporting employment stability.

Veteran Peer Support

Connection with trained Veteran peers who bring lived experience, understanding, encouragement, and knowledge of community resources.

Benefits Navigation

Help connecting with VA and other federal, state, local, and community benefits and resources for which Veterans and their families may be eligible.

Transportation + Practical Support

Help addressing transportation and other practical barriers that can make it difficult to access services, employment, appointments, or community resources.

Connection + Well-Being

Community-based opportunities designed to reduce isolation, strengthen social connection, support well-being, and help Veterans reconnect with community.

Warm Handoffs

When clinical mental-health care, substance-use treatment, medical care, housing services, legal assistance, or other specialized services are needed, our team helps connect Veterans with appropriate VA and community providers.

Eligibility

Who is the program for?

The Veteran Stability + Connection Program serves eligible Veterans and certain current or former Service members who are experiencing suicide risk or significant psychosocial risk factors.

Eligibility is not based simply on having a mental-health diagnosis.

The program is designed to reach Veterans experiencing challenges that may affect stability and well-being, including:

  • Social isolation
  • Housing instability
  • Employment challenges
  • Financial stress
  • Significant loss or life transitions
  • Difficulty accessing services
  • Mental-health or substance-use concerns
  • Chronic health conditions or pain
  • Legal or benefits-related challenges
  • Previous or current suicide-related concerns
  • Other significant psychosocial stressors

Eligibility is determined through the screening and enrollment process required by the VA Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program.

The process

What to expect

1

Connect

A Veteran, family member, provider, VA partner, or community organization can contact the program.

2

Screen

Our team completes the required eligibility and program screenings and talks with the Veteran about current needs, strengths, concerns, and priorities.

3

Build a Plan

Eligible participants work with program staff to create an individualized suicide-prevention service plan based on their needs and goals.

4

Stay Connected

Case managers, Veteran peers, employment support staff, and community partners help participants navigate resources, work toward goals, and stay connected to appropriate support.

An important distinction

Community-based suicide prevention. Not psychotherapy.

Veteran Stability + Connection is a primarily non-clinical suicide prevention program.

SSG Fox grant-funded services through this program are not psychotherapy, psychiatry, or ongoing clinical mental-health treatment.

When a participant needs clinical care, our team helps connect them with appropriate VA or community providers through referrals and warm handoffs.

The Alignment Collective separately operates a mental-health clinic and is a VA Community Care Network provider. Clinical services provided through TAC's mental-health practice are separate from the SSG Fox grant-funded Veteran Stability + Connection Program and follow their own eligibility, authorization, insurance, and funding requirements.

WHY STABILITY + CONNECTION?

Because suicide prevention is bigger than the therapy room.

The Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program was created to extend Veteran suicide prevention beyond traditional clinical settings.

It recognizes that well-being is affected by the world around us: connection, employment, housing, finances, transportation, access to care, family and community.

Veteran Stability + Connection brings that public-health approach into our communities by helping Veterans address practical barriers, strengthen protective factors, and connect with resources and people who can support them.

Program funding

Supported by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

The Veteran Stability + Connection Program is supported through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program for Federal Fiscal Year 2027.

The SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program supports community-based organizations working to reduce Veteran suicide risk and improve mental-health status, well-being, financial stability, and social support.

The Alignment Collective's FY2027 program launches in Fall 2026.

Our team
