THE ALIGNMENT COLLECTIVE
About The Alignment Collective
A Portland nonprofit built on the belief that healing happens best in community — through relationship, movement, and access.
Our mission
Built differently, on purpose.
The Alignment Collective is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community wellness organization in Portland, Oregon. We bring together mental health care, supportive movement, community, and access — because we believe healing doesn't happen in only one place or one way. We were built to serve people who too often fall through the cracks of traditional systems: veterans and military families, perinatal clients, people facing financial barriers, and anyone who needs care that feels human, connected, and grounded in relationship.
Healing happens in relationship
The therapeutic relationship is central to everything we do. We invest in clinicians who are curious, humble, and deeply committed to their clients.
Access is part of the mission
We work to reduce barriers through insurance access, sponsored opportunities, scholarships, and community partnerships — because care should reach more people.
Community is part of the care
Groups, gatherings, education, and connection are not extras. They're part of how we support healing and belonging.
Good clinicians keep learning
We invest in continuing education, supervision, and professional development because good clinical work requires ongoing curiosity and growth.
Our story
Founded by Heidi Scanlan, LCSW.
The Alignment Collective was founded by Heidi Scanlan after 15+ years in mental health care spanning crisis response, hospital social work, VA service, and clinical supervision. Heidi created TAC to expand access to integrative, relationship-centered care for veterans, families, and perinatal populations — communities too often left behind by traditional systems. TAC is located in Portland's John's Landing neighborhood at 4800 S Macadam Ave, Suite 335.

Why nonprofit?
As a nonprofit, our mission drives every decision — not profit. Insurance reimbursement doesn't always cover the full cost of care, training, supervision, or the support needed to serve people who are uninsured, underinsured, or facing barriers to treatment. Donations and community support help us bridge those gaps, invest in our clinicians, and build a model of care centered on equity, inclusion, and community healing.
We'd love to meet you.
