VETERAN STABILITY + CONNECTION PROGRAM

Stability. Connection. A way forward.

Because suicide prevention is more than mental health care.

The Veterans Stability & Connection Program supports veterans with the practical and relational pieces that affect well-being: connection, peer support, resource navigation, employment, and coordinated care.

Funded through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program

Suicide prevention happens in community

More than what happens inside a clinical setting.

Challenges involving housing, employment, finances, relationships, isolation, transportation, health care access, and navigating benefits can all affect a Veteran's stability and well-being. The Veteran Stability + Connection Program works alongside Veterans to identify needs, strengthen protective factors, build connection, and navigate practical resources before challenges become crises.

Opportunities that strengthen connection, belonging, well-being, and community engagement.

Warm Handoffs + Coordinated Referrals

When a Veteran needs health care, mental-health treatment, substance-use treatment, housing assistance, legal services, or another specialized service, program staff can help connect and coordinate with VA and community providers.

Who the program is for

Eligibility is broader than a diagnosis.

The SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program serves eligible Veterans and certain former service members who are experiencing factors associated with suicide risk. Eligibility is broader than whether someone has a mental-health diagnosis.

Risk factors may include challenges involving:

Mental health
Substance use
Chronic health conditions or pain
Traumatic brain injury
Prolonged stress
Unemployment
Housing instability or homelessness
Significant loss
Financial or legal challenges
Social isolation
Previous suicide-related concerns
Trauma or other significant life experiences

Program eligibility is determined through the required SSG Fox screening and enrollment process.

A non-clinical program

Community-based support — not psychotherapy.

Veteran Stability + Connection is a community-based, non-clinical suicide-prevention program. SSG Fox grant-funded services provided through this program are not psychotherapy or ongoing clinical mental-health treatment.

When clinical care is appropriate, our team can help Veterans connect with VA, community providers, or other appropriate health and mental-health resources.

The Alignment Collective partners with a separate mental-health clinic Mind Body Align Counseling and may provide clinical services to eligible clients through separate programs, funding, insurance, VA Community Care, or other appropriate arrangements
